Southwest Region

The natural beauty of Southwest Colorado is seen in the shapes and hues of blue crags among grassy meadows, brush-covered mesas, white-water rapids, hot springs, and deep stone canyons.

In the towns of this region, people always seem to be active...hiking, biking, flying, boating, running and climbing. The San Juan Mountain Range contain ghost towns and abandoned mines, and on the high flats of the Colorado Plateau, ruins provide evidence of ancient civilizations. Areas of archaeological interest include Anasazi Heritage Center, Hovenweep National Monument, and Mesa Verde National Park.
