Lafayette
Lafayette is located in Tippecanoe County (of which it is the county seat) northwest of Indianapolis along Interstate 65 on the banks of the Wabash River near Tippecanoe Battlefield.
William Digby platted Lafayette in May of 1825 and named it after the Marquis de Lafayette, the French hero of the Revolutionary War.
Lafayette is part of the Lafayette, Indiana metro area.
