This community is located at the junction of Sate Hwy 75 and Boyne City Road, south of Petoskey. Also located at the mouth of the Boyne River on Lake Charlevoix.

Boyne City was first pioneered in 1856 by the John Dixon and John Miller families, it was incorporated as Boyne village in 1885, was renamed Boyne City in 1904 and then incorporated as a city in 1907.

This city still holds its small town, home town flavor with a quiet downtown area of parks and shops. The city also has a beautiful marina on Lake Charlevoix which offers access to Lake Michigan and ports beyond.
