Utica is located just east of Pontiac between Pontiac and Mount Clemens along Highway 59 near Anchor Bay and Lake St Clair.

Utica was settled in 1817, became a village in 1877 and then became a city in 1937.
Today, Utica has two main parks in, the 'Grant Park' and the 'Riverview Park'. Utica has a Rotary Club, a Lions Club, a Kiwanis, an American Legion Post, and a Knights of Columbus. Utica also has many homes on Cass Avenue that are over 100 years old. Cass Avenue and most of Auburn Road have been designated as a Historic District.
