Center Harbor
Center Harbor, located in Belknap County, a lakeside village on the north end of Lake Winnipesaukee and close to Squam Lakes, was originally part of Moultonborough and was incorporated in 1797.
Center Harbor provided much of the scenery for the Hollywood movie "On Golden Pond" and inspired poetry by John Greenleaf Whittier.
Center Harbor is the winter home of the M/S Mount Washington cruise ship, and is a regular stop on the summer cruises and visit Center Harbor Children's Museum. Other activities include fishing, boating, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and beach sports.
