Concord is located in Merrimack County and is its county seat and the state capital. The city is situated 16 miles north of Manchester in eastern New Hampshire, on the banks of the Merrimack River. Concord has been the capital of New Hampshire since 1808.The New Hampshire State House in Concord was dedicated in 1819, made from 1,650 tons of locally quarried granite.
