Welcome to the Bonosearch page for RV in Epsom, New Hampshire, RV, New Hampshire
Epsom is located in Merrimack County on Route 4 between Chichester and Northwood.
Epsom was named for Epsom, England, home of the Earl of Derby, who was famous for his horse racing 'derby' at Epsom Downs. In 1727, Epsom was granted to the taxpayers of Rye, New Castle and Greenland by the Governor of Massachusetts before New Hampshire became an independent province. By 1800, the town became one of the most important in the Suncook Valley, due to its significant location for travel between the coast and the capital in Concord on the first toll road established by the State. Several taverns sprung up to accommodate those traveling through the town. Other businesses, such as lumber and grist mills, could be found on the Suncook and Little Suncook Rivers, and small factories and general stores also appeared.
Until 1824, Epsom was part of Rockingham County, then switched to the new Merrimack County. Epsom's population peaked after the Civil War, and would not experience significant growth again until the 1950's.
Accommodations in Epsom include Quiet Place Bed And Breakfast.
