Weirs Beach
Weirs Beach is located in Belknap County, northeast of Laconia. A boardwalk, waterslide, amusements, train ride on Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, weekly fireworks displays, yachting, fishing, swimming and other water sports are among the diversions. Weirs Beach is New Hampshire's inland version of a seaside resort.
Weirs Beach lies on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee, which the name is thought to mean 'Smile of the Great Spirit'. The title is appropriate, for island-studded Winnipesaukee is considered one of the most picturesque lakes in the state and is also the largest. The many bays and deep coves create a 283 mile shoreline.
