Catskill
Catskill is located in Greene County 35 miles due south of Albany, between Leeds and Glencoe Mills. It lies along Highway 9 West off Interstate 87 and is in the Southern Region part of the state.
Situated on the banks of the Hudson River near Bristol Beach State Park, Catskill is near the scene of Rip Van Winkle's legendary nap. The area affords a number of scenic drives, such as the section of Highway 23 northwest over East Windham Mountains and Highway 23B over Hunter Mountain.
