Huntington
Huntington is located in Suffolk County along Highway 25A and is in the Southern Region of the state. Huntington is the birthplace of poet Walt Whitman and the place where patriot Nathan Hale was arrested. Situated on Long Island's North Shore, Huntington is characterized by rolling hills, bluffs and picturesque harbors. The John Lloyd Manor House, built 1766-67, is a restored local historic site. The Lloyd Neck Black Oak, measuring 19 feet, 7 inches in circumference, is the largest known black oak in the United States and is north from Hwy 25A on West Neck Road. Huntington is part of the Nassau-Suffolk, New York metro area.
