Fremont

Fremont is located in northwestern Ohio in Sandusky County (of which it is the county seat) 30 miles southeast of Toledo on the banks of the Sandusky River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 17,010, a decrease of 609 since 1990.

Nearby recreation includes trips to Catawba Island State Park and East Harbor State Park, each about 25 miles to the northeast just north of Sandusky Bay. In addition, golfers will enjoy Sycamore Hills Golf Club, a public 27-hole layout where three 18-hole combinations are possible. Other area courses include Fremont Country Club, a private club but with a reciprocal guest policy and Thornwood Golf Course, a public 9-hole facility.

Local attractions include the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center, hayesprc and the Memorial Monument.
