Hilliard

Hilliard is located in central Ohio in Franklin County along I-270 on Columbus's northeast side. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 19,934, an increase of 8,140 since 1990.

The town's history dates back to 1853 when it was founded by John Reed Hilliard. Today, it is a small but growing community and is home to a diverse coporate base, from the high-tech communications field of MCI Worldcom, to the heavy manufacturing world of the Dana Corporation and Cummins Bridgeway who manufactures engines and aftermarket products for heavy- and medium-duty trucks, buses, RVs, and light commercial vehicles, and for equipment in the construction, agricultural, mining, marine, rail and government markets.
