The town of Kelleys Island is located in northern Ohio on the natural feature Kelleys Island in the western basin of Lake Erie about 5 miles north of Marblehead and 10 miles from Sandusky on the Ohio mainland.
The island measures about 5 square miles and is the largest fresh water American island in Lake Erie and supports kelleysp. One of the attractions of the island are the world famous "Glacial Grooves" which were scoured into solid limestone bedrock about 18,000 years ago by the great ice sheet which covered part of North America.
