Loudonville
Loudonville is located in northeastern Ohio in southern Ashland County about 50 miles northeast of Columbus and 15 miles south of Ashland on the banks of the Lake Fork of the Mohican River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 2,953, an increase of 38 since 1990.
Nearby outdoor recreation includes activities around Pleasant Hill Lakeabout 3 miles west of town and Mohican State Park and the Mohican Memorial State Forest just southwest of town.
In July and September each year, the Great Mohican Pow Wow draws a vast cross section of Americana to the Mohican Indian Reservation here. Performers and spectators alike say this is a "must see" event.
Another popular attraction is the Mohican Castle, an 1,100-acre estate anchored by the fascinating architecture of the structure and the four-story viewing tower.
