Lititz
Lititz is located in Lancaster County just north of Lancaster along Highway 772 near the Susquehanna River. Lititz is part of the Lancaster, Pennsylvania metro area.
Lititz was historically a Moravian settlement and was named after the barony of Lititz in Bohemia where the infant church had found refuge from persecution. Up until 1856, it was impossible for anyone except a Moravian to own land in the area.
Lititz is the home of Linden Hall, a boarding school for girls, founded before the Declaration of Independence was signed. It is the oldest girls' school in the U.S. Today, Lititz is a religious, industrial, banking, and recreational center.
