Green Bay is located in Brown County and it is the county seat. It lies in eastern Wisconsin along Interstate 43, on the banks of Fox River near the Oneida Indian Reservation.

Green Bay was settled in 1754, the first permanent European settlement in Wisconsin. Settlers from Germany, France, Bohemia, Belgium, Ireland, Poland and Scandinavia created an authentic American melting pot.

Today Green Bay's ethnic heritage continues to grow and diversify. The population estimate for 1998 was 97,789, an increase of 1,323 since 1990. Green Bay was named an All American City in 1999. It is home of the Green Bay Packers football team. A manufacturing center, Green Bay leads the nation in job growth, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Attractions include the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, National Railroad Museum and Heritage Hill State Historic Park. For golf fans, the Copps Great Lakes Classic tees off in August.
